Coach Matthew Fleigle
Matt has been coaching girls pole vault for 11 years at Mounds View high school, and is starting his first year at Concordia University in St. Paul. During his tenure at Mounds View he has been a part of 11 True Team Section Championships, 4 True Team State Championships, 7 Conference Championships, 8 Section Championships, and 1 State Championship.

His vaulters have set and reset Mounds View's school record on 8 different occasions. It currently stands at 13ft 1in. His vaulter also currently holds the Hamline Elite meet record at 13ft 1in, and the SEC Conference meet record at 13ft. His vaulter was the #1 high school freshman girl in the nation in 2016 with a jump of 13ft 3 3/4in!
He has 3 years coaching in the USATF Junior Olympics. Coach Fleigle has had:

One of his vaulters holds the USATF Junior Olympic Region 8 girls age 13-14 meet record at 10ft 2in.
He has 2 years coaching in the USATF Junior National World Qualifiers. With his vaulters having a highest finish of 6th place.
He established his own pole vault club in 2017 called Fleigle’s Flyers which he runs with his wife Esther.
Personal:
Coach Fleigle is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Kinesiology and has been pursuing his career in the sports performance world ever since. He has worked as an Aquatics and Fitness instructor as well as a Sports Performance Coach. Coach Fleigle is Crossfit level 1 certified, USA Track and Field level 1 certified, USA Weightlifting level 1 certified, and also a USATF registered coach.
Coach Esther Fleigle
Esther is a Concordia alumni and the current indoor and outdoor school record holder for CSP. During her career as a golden bear she qualified for Nationals six times and was the first Concordia track and field athlete to participate in both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. Esther graduated from Concordia with a Studio Art major and a Design minor. She currently works as a Paraprofessional in the Mounds View School District and Coaches the boy and girl pole vaulters at Irondale High School. Before moving to Irondale Esther coached at Forest Lake high school where she had two all-conference athletes, three all-section athletes and one state qualifier. Since moving to Irondale High School she has coached three all-conference athletes, two conference champions, two all-section athletes, two state qualifiers and one all-state athlete. During the 2017 high school season Irondale’s boys school record fell and currently stands at 14’6”. In the off season Esther works with her husband, Matthew Fleigle, and runs Fleigle’s Flyers USATF sanctioned Pole Vaulting Club. In their first year they coached five regional qualifiers and two USATF Hershey Youth National Competitors with the highest placing 10th. Esther is enthusiastic, holistic and knowledgeable in the sport. She enjoys working with rookies to seasoned veterans. Her goal is to develop athletes to achieve their full potential. She is a USATF level 1 certified, and is also a USATF registered coach.
